PLEASE NOTE: All dates subject to there not being a wedding taking place on any of those days when, for practical reasons, we close to the public. Therefore if you are making a special visit, please contact us before your departure to ensure that the Lighthouse will be open.
Opening hours for all dates are 11.30 pm – 5.00 pm.
This lighthouse is an important Aid to Navigation, essential in safeguarding and assisting sea-going vessels. Trinity House reserves the right to close for operational reasons at short notice. We also need to close the Visitor Centre to members of the public whenever significant adverse weather conditions prevail.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
With regret, for operational reasons, Trinity House has instructed us not to sound the historic Fog Signal (Fog Horns), for the foreseeable future.
ADMISSION CHARGES: Adults: £4.00, Children (up to 16 years): £2.00, Family (2 adults & up to 4 children): £10.00. Group Bookings (at times to suit group) £60 minimum charge. Schools / groups by prior arrangement.
Safety restrictions: Children are very welcome but they must be at least 1.1 metres in height and physically capable of ascending and descending the staircases by themselves, unaided. Under no circumstances can children or babies be carried up the stairs. Sensible footwear must be worn if you wish to ascend the lighthouse tower. Open toe sandals without heel straps, flip- flops, high-heeled footwear and bare or stocking feet are not permitted. Anyone suffering from vertigo, heart or respiratory conditions is advised not to undertake the Tour. Other Health & Safety restrictions may apply – admission is strictly at the discretion of the Tour Guide.

Visits to the Lighthouse are organised by Mr Chris Williams, under licence from Trinity House.
